[ARCHIVED] Closure Planned for Sorlie Bridge on DeMers Ave

The Sorlie Bridge is schedule to close on noon Saturday. River Street to close at 4:00 am Saturday

The City of Grand Forks, in cooperation with the City of East Grand Forks, will close the Sorlie Bridge on Demers Avenue on Saturday, April 9, 2011 as floodwaters continue to rise.

The bridge will be closed to traffic at noon.

The City of East Grand Forks will also close parking access to River Street along the boardwalk area at 4:00 a.m. Saturday morning to facilitate the construction of the flood closures.

The Red River at East Grand Forks was at 41.4 feet as of 11:30 am Friday morning. The National Weather Service currently projects a crest of between 50-52 feet sometime next week.
