The East Grand Forks Campbell Library is accepting applications for Library Circulation Aide. This is a part-time position with varying weekday and weekend hours.
Responsibilities include: This position performs general circulation desk work, including customer service, phone reception, basic computer catalog searches, data entry and shelving of materials.

General Definition of Work:
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work maintaining patron records, assisting patrons, processing books and materials, acting as a bookshelver, working at the reference desk, assisting patrons with using library technology, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Library Director.
Qualification Requirements:

Essential Functions:
- Assists patrons at the front desk.
- Locates and checks in/out books and materials.
- Assists co-workers with projects.
- Shelves books.
- Completes projects assigned by the director.
- Calls patrons for reserves, overdues and notices, and patron information.
- Researches and prepares book order cards.
- Utilizes technology to research and assist patrons.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General knowledge of office and library terminology, procedures and equipment; general knowledge of library routine and procedures; ability to follow established procedures and to perform work requiring considerable detail; ability to operate standard office equipment and related hardware and software; ability to learn specialized software or systems related to business need; ability to generate applicable records, reports and files; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and library patrons.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED and minimal experience providing patron assistance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
