[ARCHIVED] River Road NW closing Thursday morning

City crews are closing River Road NW due to increased water depths

The City of East Grand Forks is closing River Road Northwest from the flood closure at Fourth Street/5th Ave NW up to 17th Street Northwest. Crews will begin constructing flood closures on at 4th Street NW, 17th Street NW, and 12th Street NW later. Increased water depths have made the underpass and both exit ramps at the Highway 2/Fourth Street NW intersection impassable to the traffic.

The Red River at East Grand Forks was at 38.4 feet as of 6:45 am Thursday morning. The National Weather Service currently projects a crest of between 50-52 feet sometime next week. Further flood updates can be found on the city web site, Facebook, and Twitter. Interested persons can also contact the Emergency Operations Center at 399-3456 or egffood@eastgrandforks.net.
