System Testing
Fire and life safety systems, such as fire alarms and sprinklers, are among the most important and components in any building type for preserving lives, protecting property, and providing safety to first responders
INSPECTIONS, TESTING, MAINTENANCE AND REPORTING
Building owners are required to have the system inspected, tested and maintained in good working condition. Generally, systems require an annual test that must be reported to the fire department using our third-party vendor. System test reports for many systems are mandatory and must be submitted electronically to the East Grand Forks Fire Department via The Compliance Engine.
REQUIRED SYSTEMS AND TEST REPORTS AND SUBMITTAL FREQUENCY
All service providers who inspect or test fire protection systems within the East Grand Forks Fire Department's jurisdiction are required to register and submit all test, inspection, and service reports via The Compliance Engine. All reports must be submitted in accordance with the testing schedule and requirements outlined in our adopted fire code.
Fire Protection Systems
Fire protection systems shall be inspected, tested, and maintained by qualified individuals.

Commercial Cooking Hoods
Commercial cooking hoods shall be inspected by qualified individuals at the following intervals, according to MSFC 607.3.3.1.

Portable Fire Extinguishers
Portable fire extinguishers shall be inspected, maintained, and tested at least annually, MSFC 906.2. At this time there is no reporting requirement for portable fire extinguishers.
